Activity Tracking Dashboard for Amazon
My role
UX Designer
Timeline
2 weeks
Introduction
For the Data Visualisation module at postgrad, I had the opportunity to design a dashboard for any given problem.
Process
Conducted an audit on current view of Amazon data and after going through the excel sheets, I decided on the categories to be displayed; namely - Order history, Browsing history, Shopping list, and Subscriptions and memberships.
Low Fidelity Iteration (Order History)
Getting to the order history would require the user to scroll a bit much that would frustrate the user
Overview information is upfront

Low Fidelity Iteration (Browsing History)
Current browsing history page
Low Fidelity Iterations (Shopping Lists)

Moved the overview to the left as customers as used to this view in current pages
Low Fidelity Iterations (Subscriptions and memberships)

There's no hierarchy and components are fighting for attention

Customers are accustomed to this layout.
Low Fidelity Iterations (Global Summary)

High Fidelity Screens
Global Summary Dashboard
Rejected Iteration

Key Takeaways
Using Styleguide
Using Amazon's style guide to match color palette, fonts and tone of voice to write micro copy.
Design
I learnt advanced prototyping using variables and tokens in Figma.
Using layouts to maintain consistent spacing across elements.
Adding interactivity increases delight which was fun to design.
